At a time when Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra is embroiled in a non-graphic case, a report has revealed that he has taken another hit, also known as a cheating case brought by actor Sachiin Joshi. Kundra has lost a legal battle with Joshi. Scroll down to find out more.
Joshi reportedly filed a complaint against Shilpa Shetty’s husband alleging that the latter cheated on him and cheated on SGPL’s Satyug Gold scheme. In the complaint, he alleged that he was sold a five-year gold plan from the Satyug Gold Plan, in which he was promised a certain fixed amount of gold redeemable after five years.
However, when Sachin Joshi went to trade a 1KG gold asset last year, he found that SGPL’s office at Bandra Kurla Complex was closed and there were no employees or representatives available at management. The SGPL website showed another address that also turned out to be false.
According to Lokmat’s report, the court has ordered Satyug Gold to hand over the possessions to Sachiin Joshi and pay her the sum of 3 lakh rupees as a cost for legal proceedings. Joshi has now opened up about the legal battle with Raj Kundra. He told the publication: “My legal battle was simply a representation of many of the Satyug Gold investors who have invested in the gold scheme at a discount rate, only to never receive the gold.”
Sachiin Joshi, who had paid Rs 18.57,870 on March 25, 2014, had been asked by then Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra to promote Satyug Gold in order to pay a fine of Rs. 25.50,000 to redeem the gold for which they were already paid an amount of Rs 18.57,870 six years ago.
Explaining the situation in more detail in the case, Sachiin Joshi said: “I was asked to pay 25 lakh rupees to collect 18.57,870 rupees of gold after six years of my hard earned money in a company. Imagine the state of the common man who must have invested in believing in a celebrity who endorsed a company as its president! “He said he felt ‘let down’ and then realized that what has happened to him can happen to others as well.
Earlier this year, Sachiin filed a case against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra at the Khar Police Station, under Sections 406, 409 and 420 of the IPC. He said he paid Satyug Gold at Kundra’s urging. The actor-businessman also revealed why he spoke about said case now.
Sachiin Joshi said: “A lot of confusion happened to us, where we were expected to pay 25 lakh for a gold purchase of 18.57,870 lakh. The case changed when they were asked to deliver the gold and they ended up buying it from Anmol Jewelers and attaching the invoice. Which by fault means it wasn’t about storage charges as there was no gold with Kundra and Satyug Gold in the first place. And, these so-called ‘false and unsubstantiated accusations’ on our part came true. At Satyug Gold, they were so busy fulfilling each and every customer’s order that they forgot mine. “
He further said: “We got our 1kg of gold and 3 lakh fine that they had to pay us for making us go through this legal process where they were at fault from the beginning and yes on the check return case, we will win.” That too, since it stopped, it didn’t bounce, as we didn’t see any transparency in its dealings. I’m glad that karma has finally caught up with Kundra. “
