We know that actresses Rani Mukerji and Kajol are cousins and the most talented actresses the Bollywood industry has ever seen. The two actresses have appeared together on screen in the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which was Karan Johar’s mega-hit director.
Although the two actresses had a beautiful on-screen relationship, did you know that they had a kind of cold war off-screen, and that one of those glimpses of that cold war was seen on Karan’s famous talk show? Take a look to find out what happened.
It was when Kajol and Rani Mukerji came to Koffee With Karan that we got a clear idea of how things were between the two sisters off-screen. During the show, host Karan Johar asked Kajol if there were any on-screen roles for Rani that she would like to do. Kajol was quick to reply saying “None”. Well, this certainly might not be the answer Rani was hoping for, as she responded by saying that she wouldn’t want to do any of Kajol’s on-screen roles either.
Well, it was later in season 3 of Koffee With Karan in 2011 that we got a clear insight into the differences between Rani Mukerji and Kajol. On the show, when Karan Johar asked Rani what she would ask Kajol if she were a journalist, the actress responded by saying, “Why don’t you like me as much as I do?” leaving them both surprised.
Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji is married to filmmaker Aditya Chopra and has a daughter named Adira. The actress was last seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2, where she appeared alongside Saif Ali Khan and Siddhant Chaturvedi. While Kajol, on the other hand, has a beautiful family with actor Ajay Devgn and is the father of two children, Nysa Devgn and Yug Devgn. Her last on-screen appearance was in the movie Tanaji where she starred alongside her husband.
