Ten Sri Lankans Arrested At Bangalore Airport For Gold Smuggling

The customs department arrested two Sri Lankan men and eight women at the Bengaluru airport for gold smuggling.
Acting as a warning, customs officials made the arrests Saturday night.
The defendants along with 140 other passengers began their journey from Bandaranaike International Airport outside Colombo on Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL 171.
After a thorough investigation, officials discovered that the 10 defendants had hidden the gold in the form of a paste, which is worth more than Rs 1 million.
More investigations are underway.
