The Rajasthan government reduced VAT on gasoline and diesel by Rs 4 and Rs 5, respectively Ashok Gehlot NTC

The Rajasthan government has also finally decided to reduce VAT on gasoline and diesel. Because of this, gasoline will be cheaper by Rs 4 and diesel by Rs 5 in Rajasthan. CM Ashok Gehlot himself gave this information. Gasoline was sold for up to Rs 116.34 per liter in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. Now there will be some relief due to the reduction of Rs.

However, on the other hand, the Rajasthan government has also dealt a blow to the common people. Now electricity has become expensive in Rajasthan. There the electricity bill will increase by 33 paise per unit. In Rajasthan, consumers of Rs 1.52 million will be charged Rs 550 million as a fuel surcharge.

Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted: “At today’s cabinet meeting, it was decided to lower the VAT rate on gasoline and diesel. Starting at 12 o’clock tonight, rates will be reduced by Rs 4 per liter for gasoline and Rs 5 per liter for diesel. Because of this, the state government will bear the annual revenue loss of Rs 3.5 billion.

The central government had reduced excise duties

A day before Diwali, the central government had lowered the excise tax on oil. In this case, the excise duty was reduced by Rs 5 for gasoline and Rs 10 for diesel. After this, there was pressure on state governments to reduce VAT. The BJP ruled that states had reduced VAT (tax collected by the state) after the Center’s decision. But states not ruled by the BJP were moving away from him. Rajasthan was also included in this list. At present, Delhi, Bengal have also not reduced VAT.

The Rajasthan government was surrounded due to the non-reduction of VAT. CM Gehlot also claimed that Amit Shah is pressuring him to reduce VAT. Let us tell you that because of the low price, the Rajasthan petrol pumps were also suffering. Gasoline pumps on the border adjacent to other states used to be deserted. At the same time, sales at the pumps in 4 neighboring states had doubled.
