Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski has said she has never “liked” being a model because the job has left her “very confused” about her relationship with her own body.
When it was suggested that he didn’t seem to like the job, Ratajkowski said, “Absolutely not. I don’t think I’ve ever liked it. I loved the idea and the validation, but certainly the work itself made me feel very confused about my relationship with my body and what was important. “
Emily Ratajkowski said she was “really excited” about modeling when she started in the industry at age 13, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Emily Ratajkowski, questioned about what “attracted” about modeling when she started, added to Stylist magazine: “Initially, it seemed that specifically, the girls who are considered ‘hot’ were the most powerful women.”
“So at 13, I found it very exciting that someone wanted me to be a model. I felt validated and it made me feel special and powerful too, because all the women I looked up to were women who were famous for being sexualized on some level. “
Emily Ratajkowski recently accused singer Robin Thicke of “cupping her bare breasts” while filming the music video for ‘Blurred Lines’ in 2013.
In an excerpt from the new book, ‘My Body’, she wrote: “Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coldness and strangeness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. Instinctively I turned away and looked back at Robin Thicke.
He grinned a goofy grin and staggered back, his eyes hidden behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the set. (The director, Diane Martel) her voice cracked when she yelled at me, ‘Are you okay?’
I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the heat of humiliation pump through my body. I didn’t react, not really, not like I should have. “
Director Diane confirmed that she witnessed it all and immediately wrapped filming.
