By the way, the national camp has started as of November 10 without the members of the bronze medal winning team. Before leaving for the camp, Manpreet and Sreejesh will be honored with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award here on Saturday.

“We will also play some internal matches between potential players from the senior and junior main groups, which will certainly help our preparations for the Junior World Cup,” said the team’s head coach, Graham Reid, in a statement. The senior team will have a hectic schedule next year due to consecutive major international tournaments. So it would be great to start the year defending the Asian Champions Trophy.

“It would be good for the senior men’s team to train in Bhubaneswar as the climate here is almost similar to Dhaka,” Reid said. It would be good for the team to train in these conditions and get used to the conditions.

It is worth noting that the Asian Champions Trophy will be held in Dhaka from December 14-22. The teams of defending champions India, Pakistan, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and host Bangladesh will participate in this tournament. The Indian team will try to win this title for the fourth time.
