Despite being the son of veteran actress Kirron Kher and stepson of veteran star Anupam Kher, actor Sikander Kher’s journey to Bollywood has never been easy.
Speaking to IANS, he told IANS: “From the beginning there were some things that I was quite determined on. I wanted to do everything on my own without anyone’s help, but only on merit. I know I’m going the hard way.
He says, I would call that moment the darkest night when I went through rejections and gave a lot of auditions but couldn’t get the project, my parents were my biggest support. My mother in particular said that sometimes the wait is long when talent has a chance. But that doesn’t mean you give up. You are a genius and people will notice it at the right time.
He added, those words were really inspiring for me. I went through many acting classes, workshops, auditions and kept waiting. The only satisfaction I have now, everything I have achieved now, I have done on my own.
Sikandar also attended a short drama course at the National School of Drama.
She ventured into Bollywood from Woodstock Villa and later appeared in such films as Tere Bin Laden 2, The Zoya Factor, the American television series Sense 8, the web series Arya, and her latest film Sooryavanshi.
In addition to wrapping up post-production work on the new season of Aarya 2, the actor also appears in Monica O My Dalrying, directed by Vasan Bala, which will premiere on Netflix.
Sikandar is also making his Hollywood debut with the film Monkey Man with Dev Patel.
Recalling how he got the part, Sikandar said, I actually auditioned for the film five years ago. At that time no one paid attention to him. As you know, Monkey Man is Dev Patel’s directorial debut, the last time I got a call from Dev. When I auditioned with the film’s producer, the film was not happening, but then they decided to make the film and planned to shoot it. .
When Dev called me, he told me he was looking for an actor for this interesting character and then he went back to all the old auditions. There she saw my audition and thought I was the right actor for her. I read the script, lived the character, and agreed to make the movie.
The film Monkey Man, which also stars actress Sobhita Dhulipala, will premiere on Netflix.
