Former CM of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s socialism had failed in 1984. Advani was therefore forced to follow orthodox religious principles. These principles were the thought of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Rath Yatra of Advani was one of those principles, which divided society. Advani continued to sow the seeds of division in society wherever he went with the Rath Yatra.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh said that Hindutva has nothing to do with Hinduism. Savarkar was not religious. He asked why the cow is called mother. He also had no objection to eating beef. He brought the word Hindutva to establish the identity of the Hindus, which created confusion among the people.
