Pakistan will host senior diplomats from the United States, China and Russia on Thursday on the Afghanistan issue. Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and National Security Advisor Moeed Yousuf will chair the “Troika Plus” meeting.

According to the Pakistani newspaper Dawn report, representatives from Russia, the United States, China and Pakistan will also meet with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki. Muttaki will reportedly arrive in Islamabad on November 10. These talks take place at a time when India has held talks with seven countries on the question of Afghanistan. India had also invited Pakistan and China to this meeting, but both countries refused to attend the meeting.
First Troika Plus meeting since Taliban occupation of Kabul
Pakistan has yet to recognize the Taliban government, but is constantly playing the lead in getting the Taliban regime recognized. Countries like Russia and the United States are in no rush to recognize the Taliban. These countries have said recognition is pointless until the Taliban deliver on their promise. This is the first Troika Plus meeting since the Taliban took over Kabul. The last meeting of this format was held in Doha in early August. Russia called another meeting on October 19 in Moscow, but the United States did not participate, citing logistics.
All seven countries joined the melody of India
At this meeting organized to improve the situation in Afghanistan, all seven countries, including Russia and Iran, were seen chanting the voice of India. All agreed to cooperate with Afghanistan. Chairing the meeting, Doval said: “We have all come together today to discuss Afghanistan-related issues. We are all closely watching what is happening in Afghanistan. This has important implications not only for the people of Afghanistan, but also for their countries. neighbors and the region. He further said that I am confident that our discussions will be productive and fruitful and will contribute to helping the people of Afghanistan and enhancing our collective security.
