So according to We Got This Covered, the censorship board in the aforementioned countries has decided not to show Gemma Chan’s Sersi and Richard Madden’s Ikaris scene * x from the Eternals. Countries do not allow any kind of intimacy, including both same sex and direct to reach the big screens.
Meanwhile, Chloé Zhao in a Screenrant interview has talked about the same sex scene from Eternals. She says Disney always supported the idea. She said: “We knew that telling a mature love story, a love story that spans thousands of years, not doing any kind of intimate scene seemed unnatural to me. And they were all on the same page. Once we filmed it and edited it together, we showed some people to see their reactions. And everyone, Disney too, said, ‘That’s a beautiful show of love.’ [regarding] the way our actors played it together and the way it fit the mood and setting of the film. So everyone was saying, ‘Let’s do it!’ If anything, I was the one who said, ‘Okay? We can do this?’ But everyone supported that. “
