Unconfirmed reports attributed to the film’s producer, Antony Perumbavoor, claimed that this was one of Amazon’s costliest purchases in India.

The film, according to industry sources, is one of the most expensive productions ever made in Malayalam cinema on a budget of 100 crore rupees.

If Amazon buys the film for Rs 90 million to Rs 100 million, the satellite rights to the film would generate good profits for the producer.

Antony Perumbavoor had said on Friday that he had done his best to show the film on the big screen, but even after several rounds of meetings with theater owners, a final decision could not be reached and therefore he and his team decided to sell the film. movie on OTT.

Kerala Film Producers Association Director C. Sureshkumar said that the film producers and the association had held several rounds of meetings with film exhibitors, but no solution could be reached.

The director of the association of film exhibitors, Anchal Jayakumar, said: “We have had talks and promised 15 million rupees and 500 screens for the producer, but they insist on more and we cannot afford that. Cinemas will continue to be an indispensable part of the Malayalam film industry and we cannot be intimidated by such actions. “
