- The pro-Hindu group said a reward of 1001 rupees for a kick to Sethupathi
A video of well-known South Indian actor Vijay Sethupathi is going viral among his fans. In the video, a man is seen attacking Vijay and his team returning with the National Award. Vijay Sethupathi later dismissed the issue as a minor controversy. But Arjun Sampath, the leader of the pro-Hindu group, shared a screenshot of the video on Twitter, saying that whoever kicks Vijay Sethupathi will receive a reward of 1,001 rupees.
A tweet posted on Hindu Makkal Katchi’s official Twitter account read: “Arjun Sampath has announced a 1001 rupee cash award for kicking Vijay Sethupathi who insulted Thevar Ayya. He will be rewarded 1001 rupees for every kick he keeps kicking until let Sethupathi apologize for it. His mistake. Speaking to India Today, Arjun Sampath agreed that he made such a statement. Sampath said he spoke to Maha Gandhi, who kicked Sethupathi.
Maha Gandhi wanted to congratulate Vijay Sethupathi on the National Award. But Vijay Sethupathi said sarcastically that this is not a nation at all. Vijay Sethupathi again sarcastically replied that the only Thevan (God) in the world is Jesus. This caused controversy. However, actor Vijay Sethupathi has called it a minor dispute at the airport.
