New Delhi: Electronics manufacturing services company Optimus Electronics (OEL) will hold 2,000 appointments over the next two years. Apart from this, the company also plans to increase its production capacity. A Gururaj, managing director of Optimus Electronics, said that the company’s current production capacity will be completed in two years. Therefore, we are looking for a place to install a new manufacturing unit. Gururaj said: “We will have to see how customer demand holds up, but I think in the next year and a half we will add 2,000 people to the shop floor.” The company’s workforce is currently 300.
OEL is among the electronics manufacturing service companies that are eligible for the Production-Based Incentive (PLI) scheme for mobile phones, IT hardware, and telecommunications products. Clients are showing great interest in working with OEL Wistron.” In August, OEL had said that it would invest Rs 1,350 crore in the manufacturing of mobile phones and telecommunications equipment, with this, it will be able to generate revenue of Rs 38 billion from electronics manufacturing services and create 11,000 jobs over the next three to five years.
