On Friday, 32 students fell ill after consuming the noon meal at a government-run school in Telangana. District Education Officer (DEO) Dr A Ravinder Reddy said that a total of 114 students from Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School in Dimmadurthy Village of Nirmal District had eaten, of whom 32 became ill.

32 students who fell ill were immediately admitted to the primary care center and received treatment. The DEO said 12 of them are under observation and out of harm’s way. According to the DEO report, the district collector Musharraf Farooqui has suspended the school principal. Along with this, the contract awarded to the food supply agency has also been canceled.
