Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai has made sensational accusations against a high-ranking leader of his country. Peng, 35, has accused former Deputy Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli of having sex. Peng shared her ordeal on China’s Weibo social media post. Although he deleted this post after a while, the screenshots of Peng’s post started to go viral.
According to a Reuters report, through his publication, he has accused Zhang of having sex by force several years ago. After this, there was a consensual relationship between the two. Peng started loving her but couldn’t believe Zhang. He also wrote that three years ago, Zhang organized the tennis match in Beijing. After this, Zhang took Peng to his room where he was forcibly sexually assaulted, after which Peng was quite terrified. Peng also said he has no evidence to prove it.
Significantly, Zhang was a member of the seven-member Politburo Standing Committee of the ruling Communist Party during the first term (2012-2017) of Chinese President Xi Jinping. In 2018 he retired as Deputy Prime Minister. Zhang has not received any comment on this matter so far. Apart from this, the Information Office of the State Council of China has also not given any response in this matter.
Peng has won Wimbledon and the French Open
Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin was also questioned at a routine press conference about Peng’s Weibo post. However, in replying on this matter, he said that he is not aware of this matter. He also added that this is not a foreign affairs issue. Let us tell you that Peng has been considered the best female doubles player. He has won many doubles titles, including Wimbledon in 2013 and the French Open in 2014.
