The journey of India’s ‘favorite celebrity trainer’ Alan Fenandes

We would not have known combat sports as we do today if it weren’t for Alan Fenandes. Alan is the pioneer of mixed martial arts in India. It is the perfect example of determination and commitment. He has deservedly earned the nickname “Bull” and people are in awe of his abilities and skills. Alan stands behind the numerous best MMA fighters in India and is a major driving force behind the evolution of the MMA space in India.

Aside from professional wrestlers, Alan has also been instrumental in helping Bollywood names on their fitness journeys. Most of the young celebrities who are fitness enthusiasts are being trained by Alan or considering signing up with him. The saga that began with the establishment of the MMA headquarters in Mumbai has continued with the successful fitness stories of numerous Bollywood names. These include popular names like Disha Patani, Tiger Shroff, Huma Qureshi, Ishan Khattar, Krishna Shroff, etc.
Coach Alan Fenandes is a favorite among young stars like Sara Tendulkar, daughter of Sachin Tendulkar, and Zanai Bhosle, granddaughter of Smt. Asha Bhosle. When asked, these celebrities and famous kids rely on Alan’s training methods and vast knowledge of MMA techniques.

Alan, who comes from a simple family, has come a long way after his MMA debut in 2004. What started as an alien sport in India has now gained attention and has become a niche sport. Alan’s wide range of training programs includes full contact combat ishudo training, kickboxing, BJJ, wrestling, and MMA training. Fenandes also trains MMA trainers who then offer online training through gyms in India. Alan has continued to provide training and support during the pandemic. He runs the popular brand MMAMATRIXGYMS. Through online training, Alan ensures unremitting support despite the pandemic.

Fenandes is the national coach of the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association. He is the first in India to have a degree in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has also been recognized as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the past. In light of all the obstacles in Alan’s journey to MMA, he had promised himself to guide aspiring fighters in the country.
