Actress Maanvi Gagroo is often hailed as the ‘queen of the cobweb’. The OTT protégé rose to fame with the web series ‘Pitchers’ and ‘Tripling’.
His latest short film ‘Marriage 2.0’, which is part of the anthology series ‘Kaali Peeli Tales’, is receiving good reviews.
Maanvi plays the slightly insecure wife Malini opposite Hussain Dalal as her carefree husband. They are a modern couple in Mumbai, experimenting with the idea of an open marriage.
During an exclusive conversation with IANS, Maanvi shared about her character in ‘Marriage 2.0’. “It is an urban version of marriage. Both partners are working and very busy in their lives. Malini worries that at some point her marriage will get boring. What if they are attracted to someone? “
Maanvi Gagroo continued: “And then the husband is attracted to someone. When she meets her husband’s crush, she becomes jealous. It’s a very funny and sweet version of relationships. “
Maanvi has proven her worth with her versatile acting skills on web series like ‘Four More Shots Please!’ and ‘Made in Heaven’ and more recently in films such as ‘Ujda Chaman’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan’.
Maanvi Gagroo finds many similarities with his character Malini. She said: “I am very similar to Malini. I lived alone in the first confinement, I did my spiritual work and I thought I was a changed person. But the moment I was on set with people I reacted the same way. “
“I realized that I hadn’t done any shitty work on myself. So, I am like Malini. I will also say things that sound very philosophical, deep and spiritual, but in doing so, I am conservative in many ways in relationships, ”she added.
“Another thing that I related to was that before being partners they are best friends. That’s what you tell your partner that we should be able to tell all of our deepest, darkest secrets, desires, and dreams. Only when you continue to communicate with each other with trust and respect can you grow together as people. Otherwise, it will have a useful life of 5-6 years, ”Maanvi said.
Maanvi Gagroo added: “That is something I really believe in personally and I am similar to her in that sense. I would also like my husband or partner to be my best friend and to have that trust and respect for each other. “
Being part of the anthology ‘Matrimonio 2.0’, the actress loves stories. The actress said: “I love stories. Even when I read, I enjoy reading stories, because they are fast. “
Continuing, Maanvi Gagroo said: “Anthologies are an extremely palatable format. You can see a whole thing and you can also have a feeling of fullness. “
Maanvi will be seen next on ‘Four More Shots Please!’ Season 2.
