Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India is less than a day away from its premiere, and the actor-filmmaker is busy as a bee promoting the same thing. While interacting with the media for the same thing today, the actor spoke extensively about the war drama of the time. During the same conversation, he was also candid about the OTT vs. theatrical release debate. Below is everything he had to say about it.

With movie theaters closed across the country due to COVID-19, many movies, both Indian and international, took the digital route rather than waiting for them to reopen. Even Ajay’s upcoming Bhuj will be released digitally (on Disney + Hotstar). So what do you think about the OTT space? Well, he thinks it brings balance to the industry. Read everything he said below.

Continuing further and adding on the balance between the OTT space and movies heading to theaters for release, the Bhuj actor added: “There will be a good balance between the two. It is like having food. You can’t eat out 7 days a week, but after 4 days ghar pe toh khana banega hi phir aap restaurant kyu jateho ya mangate kyu ho ”. Adding that even after having ‘home cooking’, people still enjoy outside food, the actor added, “Aap ne 3-4 din OTT pe dhekha phir once or twice a week you need to go out and have an experience of big screen. It’s like that. “

Talking about whether a movie that was released digitally has hurt earnings, Ajay Devgn said: “Not really. I wouldn’t say that (it affected business). Given the situation and the setting, I think it’s a great thing (that the movies are being released digitally). When you make a movie, you want people to see it, you want people to see it to the fullest. And OTT is a good platform. I’m not saying that all films open here, but I think it will be a good balance for the future. I think theaters will come back in a big way and then there will be a balance because we are releasing 150-200 every year and people are just fighting (for a release date). People made their movies, there are no cinemas. available because there are 3-3 movies released the same day. So it will be a good balance between going to OTT or going to the theater, as long as people are watching. “

Starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk and more, Bhuj: The Pride of India premieres on Disney + Hotstar tomorrow, Friday, August 13. The period war film, directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, tells the story of IAF squad leader Vijay Karnik (Ajay), with his team and some 300 women from the local Madhapar village rebuilding the IAF air base during the night to help with India’s fight against Pakistan.
