Shalini Pandey, who is set to make her Bollywood debut as Ranveer Singh’s lead Jayeshbhai Jordaar, says she has always been confident in her physique and never paid attention to what people were saying about it.
Shalini, who rose to fame with her performance in Arjun Reddy, says she has never felt pressure to look a certain way for the industry.
Shalini Pandey said: “I have always been confident in my physique and never paid attention to what people were saying about it. I loved the phase that I was in physically and never pushed myself to have a certain body type. “
Shalini Pandey admits that women are unnecessarily scrutinized for their appearance.
“I feel like women are under a lot of pressure to be a certain way physically and that’s not right. So I don’t really see this as a transformation. I see it as a phase that has been accomplished of how I needed to be seen on screen for my role. However, I’m happy with how I look right now and I feel good too, ”said Shalini.
She shared that she has been health conscious her entire life.
The actress said: “Most of my life I have eaten healthy. I was always interested in sports and started swimming from the fifth level. I liked many sports like badminton, volleyball and others. I was quite an outdoor kid. So yeah, I’ve been a fitness freak ever since. “
Speaking about her weight loss, Shalini Pandey said: “For this particular weight loss, I put myself on an eating plan and luckily I was making a movie that required an immense amount of dance rehearsals that added to my weight loss. .
“So there is nothing specific that I did to lose weight, but I feel like the meal plan worked really well. I danced for about four hours a day and that’s a lot of cardio, which helped me a lot. “
Shalini Pandey is excited about the release of her movie “Jayeshbhai Jordaar” on the big screen.
She says she is “enjoying” the thrill of seeing her movie premiere in theaters and does not feel the pressure of expectations. Ranveer has hailed Jayeshbhai as a “miracle script.”
As an artist, Shalini is comfortable always altering her body type to enhance her on-screen performances.
She said: “I am an actress who invests a lot of energy and passion in every project that I choose. I want my performances to speak for themselves and I would endeavor to do anything to deliver a performance that will hopefully be noticed and commented on. I have no problem altering my body type if the script and my director want me to look a certain way on screen. “
The actress shared that there can be huge hormonal changes when transforming her body.
“You are putting a lot of pressure on your body when you are gaining or losing weight. However, I would still do it if the script calls for it because if my character is required to look a certain way, why not? It will only help me deliver the most authentic performance on screen, ”added Shalini Pandey.
