We had the opportunity to find out more about Raj …

1. Tell us about your journey from the moment you started your business until you jumped on the content creation train.

Since I started my business, I have always considered storytelling as the most powerful tool for connecting with my target audience, stakeholders, and that is what I have always focused on. Once people connect with you, you can scale and build a community where everyone improves day by day, so it is beneficial for everyone and that in particular helped me to scale my business and while building my business I realized that at the end of the day all I’m doing is creating content and telling a story. Whether it’s giving a speech in any country or trying to get more customers by pitching my idea to trying to educate my distributors on how they can grow their own business or telling my customers about my product and making connections with them. So all he was doing was kind of content creation. It seemed natural to me and that’s why I thought about expanding it on social media platforms so that not only people who are directly connected to me learn things, but everyone can do it. Since I enjoyed what I was doing, I wanted to help people in general, and therefore I launched into content creation.

2. Was there an inspiration and / or role model that encouraged you to become a content creator and podcaster?

A name is Gary Vaynerchuk, he is my role model. I love this guy. It’s commendable that you were able to build on the foundation of the content. He scaled a media business from scratch to one of the biggest businesses in the world based only on content and that’s an inspiration to me. I admire him and am lucky enough to meet him and be his mentor and just because I wanted him to get on my podcast, I started my podcast because he didn’t want to be my first guest but he wanted to be my 16th guest. I filmed with 15 people so I could include it in my podcast and this is how I looked at my role model and became a content creator today.

3. What type of audience do you want to reach through your content?

I hope an audience that wants more from their life, that every day realizes how to get what they want, regardless of their current situation. More or less I want young people, let’s say 15 to 25, this is the time when you can build your life. And I can help you with clear and honest business and financial content and help you achieve a certain kind of mindset that will help younger generations to see life from a different perspective. I want an established audience that is ready to rush through life to succeed.

4. What are the types of challenges you faced back then in the content creation space, and how different are the challenges now?

One challenge I faced as a content creator is that I feel like I don’t know how to edit videos, I’m not a good editor, I’m pretty bad at it, and I felt like the quality of the content wasn’t up to scratch. Mark, that was the biggest challenge I faced. I used to feel like other content creators have such good quality content. I didn’t even know how to use a basic camera even with a iPhone, I didn’t know how to position it right and set the lighting to come out right, even the videos taken from my iPhone it looked bad. And now I feel like the biggest challenge is scale, how can I keep more people interested in my content, and what kind of content do I need to deliver for my audience to like. Because once a creator grows they can’t keep doing the same thing, they will have to try 10 different things to retain the audience, but the problem with trying new things is that once you experiment, you tend to lose your initial followers. I think most content creators deal with this as they get older.

5. Where do you see content creation and podcasts in the coming years?

Content creation and podcasting will go places. I think the podcast scene hasn’t even started in the country and it’s going to explode in a big way. Mainly for 2 things:

With podcasts, you don’t have to sit in front of a screen and watch it with your full attention while listening to a podcast that you can drive, do housework, or do anything and listen to a podcast. So the audio is easy to consume and much more convenient, and you can easily multitask while listening to good conversation and learning from it. On the other hand, with video, you will have to sit in front of a screen and give your full attention. That is why the podcast is going to be consumed more.

Another big reason I feel like the podcast format is very raw and natural for anyone creating a podcast is because all they have to do is have a good conversation with a guest or talk to their audience. It doesn’t have to be in a structured way, the creator doesn’t have to think about how they look. All you have to do is connect with your audience, be open, be honest, and build a community that comes naturally, so you don’t have to put more effort into creation as well. Audio is more convenient in both creation and consumption, so I think it’s going to explode.

6. A peculiar fact about you …

A peculiar fact about me is that I talk a lot about consistency, mindset, improving yourself with new skills, but there is one thing that I cannot be consistent in and I keep changing and that is sports. One peculiar thing about me is that I am bad at almost all sports, now I know how to play about 20 sports, but I am bad at all of them. One fact that people should know is that I cannot dedicate myself to a sport for more than a month. I’ll box for a month, then switch to table tennis, then squash, then cricket, then soccer, and the list goes on. I keep changing, that’s a peculiar fact that people should know about me.

7. Who is your dream? to collaborate?

The collaboration of my dreams would be calling Mukesh Ambani Y Jeff bezos on my podcast, either of them or together, I don’t know, but that’s the collaboration of my dreams. Jeff Bezos and Mukesh Ambani as my guests. That is going to be crazy. I’m putting it in front of the world. I am sure that one day it will happen because I am working towards it.

8. A tip for budding content creators …

One tip for budding content creators is to start focusing on the data and start analyzing and start looking at the numbers. Start taking your insights seriously, and building on that insights and data, start building your content. Stop doing anything that doesn’t work and focus on doing more of what works. This is how you will climb. Start tracking your engagement, track how many people swiped up to check your story or how many people clicked on your bio. Look at the amount and information of each content, the number of times it was shared, the viewing time, how many people clicked after viewing your thumbnail, the number of comments, the number of likes, the number of times it was share. You need to track your data and metrics for different platforms. Take the numbers very seriously as they will help you climb quickly.
