Honestly, I don’t understand the purpose of celebrating Mother’s Day or Father’s Day on a particular day. These two people must be celebrated every day. And most of you would agree with me, wouldn’t you? From the highest of the highest and the lowest of the lowest, these two have been the fire under our wings. So today on this Father’s Day, we have the top 5 ‘Dads’ in the OTT world, who made us cry, laugh and get excited with them.
From Manoj Bajpayee’s Srikant Tiwari to David Harbor’s Jim Hopper and Eugene Levy’s Johnny Rose, these dads have inspired us in many ways that they know of.
Srikant Tiwari (played by Manoj Bajpayee)
Srikant from The Family Man is arguably the most relatable father. He’s juggling a lot of things and still trying to be the “dad” to his kids. From having a no-call rule at the dinner table to bribing your kids with pizza, there are many reasons to love him as a parent. So where you don’t have your TASC approved home loan yet, we wish you a happy Father’s Day for not giving up on country and family.
Johnny Rose (played by Eugene Levy)
I honestly wanted to understand the buzz about the show and when I started watching it, I was hooked. From making ends meet at Schitt’s Creek to starting a chain of motels, Johnny Rose did it single-handed. He is the coolest parent of OTT platforms. From accepting David’s relationship with Patrick to trusting Alexis with his abilities, Johnny deserves a lot of applause for never giving up on family and love.
Ross Geller (played by David Schwimmer)
As Ross Geller struggled to really find out if: he and Rachel were really on hiatus; There is one thing I was totally dedicated to and that is being a FATHER. From processing his divorce from Carol to changing relationships, there’s one thing Ross really nailed down besides paleontology is parenthood. While he never gets what he deserves for his performance on Friends, he definitely deserves it on Father’s Day, you are one of the best dads we have witnessed in movie history.
Jim Hopper (played by David Harbor)
Jim Hopper’s relationship with Eleven played by Millie Bobby Brown redefined the goals of father and daughter. His last letter to his daughter still makes me cry and although I have seen the episode like a trillion times. From letting him attend the snowball with his friends to asking his daughter to hold the door open 3 inches each time, he is so cute!
Akhandanand Tripathi (played by Pankaj Tripathi)
Akhandan and Tripathi is that dominant power that would control your life but protect you from the smallest things. From covering Munna’s mistakes to teaching her life lessons, Akhanda never shies from being an overprotective parent. For a father who only needs to nod his head to make things happen like any other home.
Happy Father’s Day to all you brave potatoes!
